Hi all,
The Brewers game was a great success, we have been asked to perform for NBC15's Sounds of the Season again, and there are over 350 4th grade beginners in orchestra this year!
A couple of orchestra items for this fall day:
1) LAST CALL: There are still spots open on the Italy Tour for Spring Break 2025. Right now we have around 100 participants fgrom orchestra and choir. Registration officially closes on September 29.
To register, there are 2 steps to complete (both linked in the FAQ doc):
Fill out our Google Form
Head to the Contemporary Tours web site and register/pay the deposit
Make sure you have done both steps please!
Yes, families can join us! Full info is in the FAQ doc–make a family vacation out of the tour!
2) LAST CALL: Concert T-Shirts are still for sale on the booster website. Purchasing yours helps us cover all costs, and donations are also welcome. Shirts will be maroon this year, with a brand new design.
3) The Orchestra and Band Boosters are selling ads that will go into the glossy concert program. Senior shout-outs, ads for your business, and ads for businesses you know all make the program cost-effective and personalized and an addition to the community. Please consider purchasing an ad at our booster web page.
4) Speaking of the MCP Orchestra Boosters: We can use you on our board and on our committees! Every one of you could have the skill set we are looking for: "I would like to help the orchestra teachers bring great musical experiences to our MCP orchestra students."
Specifically, we are looking for the following:
-- Board opening: Vice President/Events Coordinator = time committment about 5 hours per month, no experience in the boosters necessary, no automatic movement to the president position Help coordinate and facilitate booster events.
-- Board position: PR/Social Media = time commitment about 8-10 hours per month. Maintain and collect content for booster social media accounts. Communicate with local media about events.
-- Board opening: Historian = time commitment about 3 hours per month. Work to create a full history of the orchestra program in the district.
-- Fruit Sale Committee: Help organize the largest fundraiser of the year.
-- Fruit Sale Future Chair: In the 40 years of the fruit sale's existence, there has never been a fruit sale chair who was an orchestra parent--alwasy the band side. I would very much like that streak to end. Most of the proccesses are in place and to a large extent the sale runs itself. Could you shadow this year and take over next year?
If you are able to help us with any of these, please drop me a note!
Enjoy the end of your September!
