4/24/24 - Orchestra Trip to Italy

Hello, Orchestra Families!

I am thrilled to tell you that we are now accepting registrations for the 

MHS CHOIR & ORCHESTRA Spring Break 2025 Tour to Italy!  

The trip takes place Saturday, 3/22/25 - Saturday, 3/29/25, departing by bus from MHS, heading to O’Hare for a flight to Rome.  We spend a few days in Rome and then head down to Naples.  Along the way, we will see the major sights Rome has to offer (Vatican City/Sistine Chapel, Coliseum, Circus Maximus, and such) and the incredible places in and around Naples (Pompeii, the Isle of Capri).  We will also perform 3 concerts at various types of venues, including local concerts and schools and historic buildings.  A full itinerary is linked in our FAQ doc.

To register, there are 2 steps to complete (both linked in the FAQ doc):

– Fill out our Google Form

          – Head to the Contemporary Tours website and register/pay the deposit

Our initial deadline is FRIDAY, MAY 10.  There are opportunities to register after this date, and our scholarship plan will be determined by registrations completed by the 5/10 date.

Yes, families can join us!  Full info is in the FAQ doc–make a family vacation out of the tour!

There will be scholarships available after the initial registration period, so keep an eye out for the opportunity to travel on a full or partial scholarship.

If you are not currently registered for an orchestra class at MHS next year, you can still register for the trip and then make a schedule change to add Orchestra in August during the official schedule change window.  If you register but then do not make the schedule change, you will forfeit your deposit–every student traveler must be enrolled in MHS Orchestra in order to participate.
